BEST Junior – Dealing with Emotions is designed to help children in Grades 1 to 4 better understand and manage big feelings that can impact friendships, learning, and everyday interactions.
Building on foundational social skills, this program focuses specifically on emotional awareness and regulation. Children learn to recognize their emotions, understand how feelings influence behaviour, and develop practical strategies to respond in healthy, constructive ways.
In a small, supportive group setting, participants will:
Identify and label emotions
Practice calming and self-regulation strategies
Learn how to express feelings appropriately
Strengthen problem-solving and peer interaction skills
Through structured activities, guided discussions, role-play, and real-life practice, children build confidence and develop tools they can use at school, at home, and in the community.
BEST Junior is especially beneficial for children with learning disabilities or ADHD who may need additional support with emotional regulation and social understanding.
This program helps children feel more confident, more understood, and more successful in their relationships with peers.
